Titanoboa Sizzle Reel
19. April 2012 by Ben Z Cooper
This film is presented in Polyvision; a 4:1 ratio. To my knowledge only one other film has been made in this format; Abel Gance’s 1927 film Napoleon. It involved the simultaneous projection of three reels of silent film arrayed in a horizontal row, making for a total aspect ratio of 4:1 (1.33×3:1). Thanks to digital technology, I was able to fit these all in one 3000px x 750 px frame in Final Cut Pro. Unfortunately, this non-standard frame did some funny things to the program, including making the reds render out badly. Anyway, hope you enjoyed it!
